ColorStack represents more than just an organization—it&aposs a movement dedicated to increasing representation of Latinx and Black students in computing fields. As someone who has navigated the challenges of being an underrepresented minority in tech, I understand the profound impact that community, mentorship, and opportunity can have on a student&aposs journey.
Serving as Events Chair at Georgia Tech&aposs ColorStack chapter has allowed me to directly contribute to creating spaces where students like me can thrive, build meaningful connections, and access the resources needed to succeed in computing careers. Every event we organize is a step toward building a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.

Representation in tech isn&apost just about numbers—it&aposs about bringing diverse perspectives, experiences, and solutions to the challenges facing our digital world. When students see professionals who look like them succeeding in tech roles, it breaks down psychological barriers and expands their vision of what&aposs possible.
Through ColorStack, I&aposve witnessed firsthand how community support and targeted opportunities can transform a student&aposs trajectory. Many members have gone from questioning whether they belong in tech to landing internships at companies like Google, Microsoft, and Meta.
This work is deeply personal to me because I know the difference that representation and community can make. Every event we organize, every connection we facilitate, contributes to building a more inclusive tech ecosystem where talent from all backgrounds can thrive.
Large-scale event planning, logistics coordination
Building inclusive communities, team coordination
Corporate relations, stakeholder management
My work with ColorStack has reinforced my commitment to using technology and leadership to create positive social impact. The experience has shown me the power of intentional community building and the importance of creating pathways for underrepresented students to access opportunities in tech.
As I continue my career, I carry forward the lessons learned from ColorStack: that diversity drives innovation, that community support unlocks potential, and that creating inclusive spaces is not just the right thing to do—it&aposs essential for building the technology solutions our world needs.
